Activities of the National Association of Environmental Clubs

Mission of the National Association of Environmental Clubs
Association services, namely, servicing and promoting the general interest of individuals of all ages, students or businesses who belong to or would like to create environmental clubs or groups with regards to their environmentally friendly or sustainability ideas, projects or programs in each city, state or nation.

Goals of the National Association of Environmental Clubs
To provide environmental clubs as well as individuals and students involved in environmental projects:

1) Assistance in the creation or improvement of an environmental club;

2) Skills to improve environmental club recruitment;

3) Ability to share best practices of environmental clubs throughout USA and World;

4) Tools to help create a powerful transformation to help the environment;

5) Opportunities to help do the greatest good for the least financial cost;

6) Meaningful fundraising activities;

7) Potential to receive similar status to those of school and community sports teams.

Summary of Services
The National Association of Environmental Clubs is an umbrella for the following activitites. The activities below are pieces of a puzzle that integrate to form a more powerful whole to help the environment:

1) National Green Team

Individuals who are not yet affiliated with an Environmental Club can join the National Green Team and receive individual rankings by city, state and USA for their environmental activities in over 100 categories.

2) National Green Team League

a) Environmental clubs can choose to join the National Green Team or National Green Team League. The goal is to offer the same structure offered by other school or community sports programs based on cooperation as well as competition.

b) Individuals and environmental clubs will receive rankings for competing in over 100 areas that are related to environmental or sustainability programs. Please see the list of programs at http://sustainabilityb.blogspot.com/ (first link, right hand column).

c) Individuals and teams will receive rankings and be recognized as the leader in their school, community, state and nation (USA, Canada and other countries) for that environmental activity. Cooperation will be emphasized, giving points to environmental clubs or green teams that help other environmental clubs or green teams.

d) If schools or communities do not have an environmental club, the National Green Team and National Green Team League can help them create a school green team.

3) Hope Award

a) Environmental clubs will receive the Hope Award (Hero of Planet Earth Award) for their activities.

b) Member clubs can also give Hope Awards to school or local environmentalists.

4) Multimedia Presentation

a) Member clubs will receive a four-page feature in an e-book that contains other environmental clubs in their community or state. A group picture with all students and their teacher holding an award will introduce each feature.

This program is similar to the Multimedia presentation offered to students who enroll in the National Environmental Science Fair program (#5 below).

b) Members will receive help to create their own blog on which to post their environmental club activities.

c) Members will receive help to create a YouTube video to be placed on the YouTube channel of the National Association of Environmental Clubs.

d) The e-book will sell for $5 and can be used to pay for environmental club enrollment.
Additional book sales can be used as a fundraiser for the environmental club. If each club member sells only 1-2 books, an environmental club of 10 members can raise $50-$100.

e) You can find sponsors for your "Green Team" membership and for fundraising. Sponsors will receive a 2 for 1 - a feature in your environmental club ebook as well as in your Community's Green Guide.

5) National Environmental Science Fair

a) Individuals with Environmental or Sustainability Science Fair Exhibits will receive a four-page feature in an e-book that contains other environmental clubs in their community or state. A group picture with students and their science fair exhibit will introduce each feature.

c) Members will receive help to create their own blog on which to post their environmental club activities.

6) Environmental Hall of Fame

a) The Environmental Hall of Fame is a sister organization.

b) Individuals and teams with high rankings will receive the Environmental Hall of Fame award for their community, state or nation.

c) Environmental clubs can also honor and receive their photo with individuals in their community, state and nation to receive an Environmental Hall of Fame award.

7) Environmental Curriculum

a) The National Association of Environmental Clubs is sponsoring an environmental curriculum program along with our sister organization, National Sustainability Association.

b) Within one year, it is projected the environmental curriculum will host over 100 online quizzes from the top features, articles or e-books on sustainability and the environment.

c) Students and individuals can prepare a quiz from one of these top features and be acknowledged for creating the quiz. Participating environmental clubs will receive higher rankings in the National Green Team League.

d) Environmental clubs can inspire their school to adopt one or more of the features and its associated quiz as part of the school's environmental curriculum. Participating environmental clubs will receive higher rankings in the National Green Team League.

8) Vote for Planet Earth

a) All individuals can vote for top environmentalists in their community, state, nation and world. Members can give awards Hope Awards or Environmental Hall of Fame Awards on behalf of the Environmental Hall of Fame.

b) All individuals can vote for the top environmental projects in their community, nation and world. Members can give Hope Award or Environmental Hall of Fame Awards on behalf of the Environmental Hall of Fame.

c) Please contact us if you believe a Mayor, Council Member, Sustainability Director or School Administrator, Teacher, Student, Environmental Club, Business Leader, Environmentalist or Celebrity deserves to receive the Environmental Hall of Fame Award or Hope Award (Hero of Planet Earth Award) for their city.

9) Community Green Guide

a) Members will receive a feature in your Community's Green Guide in addition to your ebook. Please see 3) Multimedia Presentation.

b) You can give an award to a local environmentalist who will be featured in the Community Green Guide

c) You can find a sponsor(s) for your Green Team to raise money for your Membership. The sponsor will receive a feature in your Environmental Club's ebook as well as the Community Green Guide.

10) Community Green Gallery

You can create a Green Gallery for your school and Community.

Enrollment
Enrollment in the National Association of Environmental Clubs is $100. This cost can be offset by sales of an e-book that features your environmental club and other environmental clubs in your community and state.
